March 8, 2014 Letter to the Editor, On Thur Feb 6 th , the people’s voice was stymied, by an orchestrated public hearing lead by Sen.Luther Olsen who is chairman of the Senate Education Committee. The hearing was on Senate Bill 619 co-sponsored by Senator Leah Vukmir and Senator Paul Farrow. I try to attend various legislative hearings in Madison and other locations around the state, particularly those I have a vested interest in. Being a school board member, I have had considerable interest in the implementation of Common Core standards in our state’s public schools.   I don’t know what is more galling to me, the political gamesmanship proffered  by Sen Luther Olsen with his AP interview two hours before the hearing was held, stating that this Bill was dead, the preferential treatment given the DPI, CESA administrators, our district school superintendent and their staff and supportive teachers, or the subsequent AP article published in the Watertown Times Fri.   March 7th, page 7, first section. I could write an entire article on the bias shown and misrepresentations printed in that article….

I guess private property isn’t really private after-all.  This is the epitome of BIG BROTHER!!!  This stems from another drug case, which along with “terrorism” cases seem to take our constitutional protections and throw them out the window. Federal Judge OKs Installation of Surveillance Cameras Without a Warrant On October 29, a federal district court judge ruled that police can enter onto privately owned property and install secret surveillance cameras without a warrant. The judge did set forth a few guidelines that must be followed before such activity would be permissible, but the fact that such a scenario is accepted as constitutional by a federal judge is a serious setback for privacy and for the Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment guarantees: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. link to full article

Hello Patriots, The Rock River Patriots are having a meeting on Friday August 24th in Fort Atkinson at 6pm.  We will be meeting in the community room of the Dwight Foster Library, located at 209 Merchants Avenue in Fort Atkinson. In this time over 25,000 customer names were reported to West Milwaukee Police Chief Dennis Nasci who ran a background check on each through “his system”. So far in 2012 it was reported more than 8,800 customer name records have been supplied to West Milwaukee Police by Brew City Shooters Supply to have a criminal background check run on them. We do not know yet, how else West Milwaukee Police have been using these records they have been given by Brew City Shooters Supply, nor if they are storing those customer names for future reference. In a stunning upset for the Obama administration and big-government zealots in general, a federal judge in New York has issued an injunction against the citizen detention portion of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting this Friday April 13th at 6pm in Fort Atkinson at the Dwight Foster Library in their community room.  The Dwight Foster Library is located at 209 Merchants Avenue. At this meeting we will discuss current events, issues, and initiatives.  We will discuss the recent election results and listen to a brief presentation on the “Turn-Key Dictatorship” that is appearing all around us.  This will be a meeting with a lot of information and should not be missed.
