Paul Ryan (R-WI) to Cut Gun Control Deal, Major Vote Next Week

From Ammoland.com

Wisconsin – -(Ammoland.com)- While you and I prepare for a weekend of R&R in celebration of this nation’s freedom, Wisconsin Republicrat Paul Ryan is working behind the scenes to crush what little freedom you and I have left.

That’s right, Ryan — according to a story on AmmoLand News and again on rollcall.com yesterday, “House Plans Vote on Guns Next Week” — will urge the U.S. House early next week to vote for “a counterterrorism package that will include a provision to prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns” and a so-called mental health bill that will effectively disarm and prohibit gun ownership for millions of Americans without due process based on phony junk science and the “diagnoses” from any anti-gun doctor with an axe to grind.

Of course, these politicians — people who have made a career out of habitual lies and broken promises — are trying to reassure gun owners that they will build in an appeals process for anyone wrongly placed on the government’s East-German Stasi-style secret watchlists.

Yeah, right.

As our friends at Gun Owners of America points out here, even IF there is an appeals process for being wrongly placed on a watchlist (as millions of Americans are) no one will be able to afford the attorneys’ fees to fight that legal battle.

Sadly, the institutional gun lobby is offering a so-called “compromise” which will arguably be just as bad as the anti-gunners’ bill … all in an attempt to try to look ‘reasonable.’

You and I know that’s a very, very bad strategy: like trying to feed scraps of meat to the crocodile that’s about to eat you.

Anti-gun bills being introduced include:

  • Obama’s “No-Fly, No Guns” program, labeling you a “terrorist” because some bureaucrat doesn’t like your political views.
  • Implement mental health gun ban, so any hand-picked “doctor” can declare you mentally unfit to own firearms … with no due process or right to appeal.

Again, this attack on our firearm freedom will be launched right after politicians return from the July 4th 2016 recess — so after getting rested up during a weekend of phony homage to freedom, they will turn right around next week and attack your freedom.

Call Paul Ryan’s Office and tell him what you think of this!

Letter To The Editor On Gun Control From One Of Our Members

Letter to the Editor,

The main stream media, internet and talk radio is a buzz with the new “proposal” of “our government” to violate our 2nd Amendment God given rights. Australia, is living proof of what happens when guns are forcibly removed from private ownership. Since the institution of their 1996 gun laws, armed robberies are  up 69%; assaults with guns up 28%; gun murders up 19% and home invasions up 21%. Hmm…how can gun murders be up when guns are illegal to own????

According to Reality Check , Gun statistics are: The US has the highest gun ownership in the world, average of 88 guns per 100 residents. This places us first in the world for gun ownership and  #28 in gun homicide. What about crime statistics in Great Britain? Britain is also the most violent country in the EU, that is 2034 violent crimes per 100,000  The UK has the second highest overall crime rate in the EU. UK has the fifth highest robbery rate and the fourth highest burglary rate. Compare that to the US with 466 violent crimes per 100,000 people.

There is an interesting video revealing the statistics from the FBI which is an unbiased government agency that does not advocate government policy. It reports: 1992 violent crime of 757 per 100,000 people. In 2011 it was reduced to 386/100,000 { 50% reduction}. 1992 murder rate 9.3 per 100,000; 2011  4.7/100,000  {54% reduction}. Home Office an unbiased organization for England/Wales reports Violent Crime to be 3.5 times higher than US. {See http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/important-gun-violence-video-to-share-with-friends} for this video and www.fbi.gov and www.homeoffice.gov.UK for statistical information on crime.

All said, it’s the criminals who now are empowered and emboldened in these countries because the innocent can no longer defend themselves.

The tragedy of Connecticut, no one would deny. The questions remain:  “Why no concern for the lost lives in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other sovereign countries targeted by our government and it’s endorsed drone shootings and the collateral damage and deaths including many children? What about the 3500 innocent babies a day violently killed via abortion? Not a tear shed, BUT promoted!  Many understand the reply to these “puzzling” questions, “It is NOT about gun control. It is about control of the people” and it’s progressive! Be warned citizens. Our forefathers understood this. They realized guns were not so much to protect them from the citizenry;  but an armed citizen militia keeps government tyranny at bay.

Who would deny that government controls are increasingly invading our lives. Have these changes of increased legislation, taxes, fees and regulations improved our country? Are we anticipating that the increased deductions from all our  paychecks will mean improved living conditions for us? Has the war on drugs meant society no longer has a drug problem? It seems to be pretty well accepted that the more government “does for us” the worst shape we as Americans are in. Should we now expect, even though the government track record is dismal at best, that we should just turn over our God given liberties and trust this government monstrosity that gun removal is for our safety! Why is it that our government officials have armed body guards,  but the citizenry should have none? President Obama just put into law, armed protection for himself and former presidents for life; not to mention armed body guards at the school which his children attend which is the case for many VIP’s throughout our country.

The question may also be asked, “What has changed in America today?” Our disregard for our Lord Jesus Christ and His commandments. Removing Him as Creator God from our schools, changing His laws for marriage and killing the unborn. The Bible also references the fact that a nation can expect more judgment based on our sins, our rejection of God, our election of  ungodly leaders. Have we reached the point of Romans 1 where God abandons a nation? Should we be concerned?  Natural disasters of course will be attributed to “Global Warming/Climate Change”. I believe it is as the Bible says, our minds are debased, and nature will groan as a result of the sin of a nation. I have a hard time asking God to bless America. America needs to repent of our sins, seek His forgiveness, live and educate our children in the ways of the Bible. Then perhaps in God’s mercy, He may bless our land.

Six 2nd Amendment Facts Everyone Should Know

The Second Amendment Explained

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

In the days when this amendment was written, the militia meant every adult able to bear arms. The militia was not the regular army. The term “regulated” was not a legal term at that time, but a mechanical one. A regulator was any mechanical device used to make something work better. A spin-ball governor was used to “regulate” the speed of a steam engine, as one example. A “Well Regulated” militia meant a militia with all the proper equipment needed to do their job better. That meant good weapons with good sights. After all, what use is a militia if they cannot hit what they are aiming at?

The Second Amendment is not about target shooting or hunting. At the time, hunting was indispensable for survival in the new nation, especially when food crops were unavailable. To deprive the people of their hunting weapons was to condemn them to death by starvation in the winter months. Military commanders of the time viewed hunting weapons as off limits. When Lieutenant Colonel George Monro surrendered Fort William Henry to Major General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm during the French and Indian Wars, the civilian militia serving the British were allowed to take their weapons with them when they left. When the British marched on Concord, triggering the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the start of the American Revolution, it was to seize military arms, not hunting weapons.

By the very inclusion of the terms “militia”, “security”, and “free state” it is clear that the Second Amendment is referring to military arms. The Founding Fathers understood that it was only because the people had been in possession of military arms that they were able to resist the economic enslavement of King George’s Currency Act, created under pressure from the then-private central Bank of England. Absent those arms in the hands of the people, the banker-imposed poverty would have continued indefinitely.

“The refusal of King George 3rd to allow the colonies to operate an honest money system, which freed the ordinary man from the clutches of the money manipulators, was probably the prime cause of the revolution.” — Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father

The Founding Fathers, while acknowledging the need for some form of government, knew all too well from thousands of years of human history that government is not automatically the friend of the governed, and had to be kept under tight control.

“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” — George Washington, in a speech of January 7, 1790

Following the Revolution, the Founding Fathers created a nation with power and authority reserved to the people. In order to avoid despotic rule, the government was broken into three separate parts, so that the natural tendency for government to seek more power would be turned against itself and not the people. Strict limits were imposed on the government itself, to keep the government the servant of the people.

The Founding Fathers included the Second Amendment because they understood that any system of government is only as good as the people who are in that government. They understood that political power attracts the very sort of people who should never be allowed to have it. And they understood that no matter how limited government was at its creation, over time all governments tend towards oligarchy, cease to be the servant of the people, and seek to become the masters.

“While the people have property, arms in their hands, and only a spark of noble spirit, the most corrupt Congress must be mad to form any project of tyranny.” – Rev. Nicholas Collin, Fayetteville Gazette (N.C.), October 12, 1789

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” (Thomas Jefferson Papers p. 334, 1950)

In short, the Second Amendment is not about hunting or target shooting. It is and was ever intended to be about protecting We The People from the government of the United States.

The Shotgun – A True Story of Gun Control

The Shotgun – A True Story of Gun Control

by TheLasersShadow

You’re sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door.  Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers.  At least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way.

With your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun. You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it.

In the darkness, you make out two shadows.  One holds something that looks like a crowbar.  When the intruder brandishes it as if to strike, you raise the shotgun and fire.  The blast knocks both thugs to the floor.  One writhes and screams while the second man crawls to the front door and lurches outside.

As you pick up the telephone to call police, you know you’re in trouble.  In your country, most guns were outlawed years before, and the few that are privately owned are so stringently regulated as to make them useless..

Yours was never registered.  Police arrive and inform you that the second burglar has died.  They arrest you for First Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

When you talk to your attorney, he tells you not to worry: authorities will probably plea the case down to manslaughter.

“What kind of sentence will I get?” you ask.

“Only ten-to-twelve years,” he replies, as if that’s nothing.  “Behave yourself, and you’ll be out in seven.”

The next day, the shooting is the lead story in the local newspaper.  Somehow, you’re portrayed as an eccentric vigilante while the two men you shot are represented as choirboys.  Their friends and relatives can’t find an unkind word to say about them..

Buried deep down in the article, authorities acknowledge that both “victims” have been arrested numerous times.  But the next day’s headline says it all: “Lovable Rogue Son Didn’t Deserve to Die.”  The thieves have been transformed from career criminals into Robin Hood-type pranksters.

As the days wear on, the story takes wings.  The national media picks it up, then the international media.  The surviving burglar has become a folk hero.  Your attorney says the thief is preparing to sue you, and he’ll probably win.

The media publishes reports that your home has been burglarized several times in the past and that you’ve been critical of local police for their lack of effort in apprehending the suspects.

After the last break-in, you told your neighbor that you would be prepared next time.  The District Attorney uses this to allege that you were lying in wait for the burglars.

A few months later, you go to trial.  The charges haven’t been reduced, as your lawyer had so confidently predicted.

When you take the stand, your anger at the injustice of it all works against you.  Prosecutors paint a picture of you as a mean, vengeful man.  It doesn’t take long for the jury to convict you of all charges.  The judge sentences you to life in prison.

This case really happened!!!

On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk, England, killed one burglar and wounded a second.

In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term.  How did it become a crime to defend one’s own life in the once great British Empire?

It started with the Pistols Act of 1903.  This seemingly reasonable law forbade selling pistols to minors or felons and established that handgun sales were to be made only to those who had a license.

The Firearms Act of 1920 expanded licensing to include not only handguns but all firearms except shotguns..

Later laws passed in 1953 and 1967 outlawed the carrying of any weapon by private citizens and mandated the registration of all shotguns.

Momentum for total handgun confiscation began in earnest after the Hungerford mass shooting in 1987.  Michael Ryan, a mentally disturbed man with a Kalashnikov rifle, walked down the streets shooting everyone he saw.  When the smoke cleared, 17 people were dead.

The British public, already de-sensitized by eighty years of “gun control”, demanded even tougher restrictions.

(The seizure of all privately owned handguns was the objective even though Ryan used a rifle.)

Nine years later, at Dunblane, Scotland , Thomas Hamilton used a semi-automatic weapon to murder 16 children and a teacher at a public school.

For many years, the media had portrayed all gun owners as mentally unstable, or worse, criminals. Now the press had a real kook with which to beat up law-abiding gun owners.  Day after day, week after week, the media gave up all pretense of objectivity and demanded a total ban on all handguns.

The Dunblane Inquiry, a few months later, sealed the fate of the few sidearms still owned by private citizens.

During the years in which the British government incrementally took away most gun rights, the notion that a citizen had the right to armed self-defense came to be seen as vigilantism.

Authorities refused to grant gun licenses to people who were threatened, claiming that self-defense was no longer considered a reason to own a gun.

Citizens who shot burglars or robbers or rapists were charged while the real criminals were released.

Indeed, after the Martin shooting, a police spokesman was quoted as saying, “We cannot have people take the law into their own hands.”

All of Martin’s neighbors had been robbed numerous times, and several elderly people were severely injured in beatings by young thugs who had no fear of the consequences.  Martin himself, a collector of antiques, had seen most of his collection trashed or stolen by burglars.

When the Dunblane Inquiry ended, citizens who owned handguns were given three months to turn them over to local authorities.  Being good British subjects, most people obeyed the law.  The few who didn’t were visited by police and threatened with ten-year prison sentences if they didn’t comply.

Police later bragged that they’d taken nearly 200,000 handguns from private citizens.

How did the authorities know who had handguns? Kind of like cars. Sound familiar?

WAKE UP AMERICA; THIS IS WHY OUR FOUNDING FATHERS PUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT IN OUR CONSTITUTION.

“…It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate,

tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds..”

–Samuel Adams

If you think this is important, please forward to everyone you know.

Gun Laws that are being proposed in America will eventually cause the same effect here!

Why Are Republicans Calling To Disarm The American People?

Why Are Republicans Calling To Disarm The American People?

The above linked article does a good job to demonstrate why “the price of liberty is eternal vigilance”.  We have spoken out repeatedly against the NEOCONs because they truly do not represent the Constitution as they claim.

One of the people listed in the linked story is Bill Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, a neocon magazine.  John McManus of the John Birch Society has done a great job in a presentation explaining the NEOCONSERVATIVE AGENDA.  Bill Kristol’s father, Irving Kristol, wrote a book about the Neoconservative Agenda and was a former Trotskyite.  Followers of Leon Trotsky, called Trotskyites, were followers of a form of Marxist theory.  Trotsky considered himself an orthodox Marxist and a Bolshevik-Leninist.  Watch the video, and see for yourself.  We can conclude from Kristol’s comments that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Also contained in the above link is the PINHEAD Bill O’Reilly, proving once again he is no friend of liberty.  We have the video below for you to view.  O’Reilly’s analysis is full of factual inaccuracies and will not even allow the congressman time to explain anything.  O’reilly is deliberately misleading his viewers calling for regulation of “heavy weapons” and “machine guns”.  They are ALREADY regulated by the BATF, requiring a background check, 6 month wait, and tax-stamp.  AK-47’s and AR-15’s sold at gun shows are NOT machine guns.  A machine gun is defined as a rifle that has the ability to fire fully automatic, meaning one trigger pull results in the gun firing multiple rounds.  The guns sold are semi-automatic rifles meaning one round is fired with each trigger pull.  These guns have the same size bullets that are used in hunting rifles.  They are NOT “heavy weaponry” as O’reilly would have you believe.

Guns are not the problem, but rather the lack of guns.  No amount of government oversight can prevent a tragedy that is perpetrated by someone who is on a “homicidal mission”.  The theater in Aurora Colorado was posted as a “No Carry” location.  This just proves that gun control and gun-free zones are successful…if you are a nut, bent on going on a massive killing spree.

Maybe the Aurora Colorado shooter could have been stopped by an armed citizen.  Maybe not.  The fact remains that we will never know.  What does remain, however, is that by taking away a person’s ability to defend themselves, you are emboldening the potential assailant.  What might have been the deciding factor in deterring a “would-be shooter” for fear of armed resistance, is longer a threat to them when entering a “gun free zone” or a “no carry” location.  It should give any “would-be shooter” pause, knowing there is the potential that someone may be shooting back.  Yes…There are those “shooters” who have no fear of armed resistance.    For those who are determined to carry out their homicidal intentions, it is why we advocate armed citizens to obtain quality firearms training and carry whenever possible.

In closing, here are a few quotes from our founding fathers about the importance of armed citizens:

No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms. (Thomas Jefferson: Draft Virginia Constitution, 1776.)

Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good.  (George Washington)

Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? (Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836)

U.N. Small Arms Treaty – Pay Attention Gun Owners

U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms

We have talked at length about this before and have genuine reasons to be concerned.  If the U.S. Senate ever ratifies this treaty, we will be in real trouble.

It is fair to say that it will lead to a Constitutional Crisis, and possibly a civil war.  Wisconsin residents have Constitutional protections both in the 2nd Amendment and in the WI Constitution Article I Section 25.  I could never imagine gun owners voluntarily giving up their guns nor most law enforcement officers going door to door to confiscate weapons.

However, this is another reason not to have a database of those who carry concealed.  It is a list that will be used if this small arms treaty is ever ratified.

I can already hear the shouts by gun owners.  The words echo the phrase made famous by the Spartan King Leonidas…“MOLON LABE – Come and Take Them!”
