The Southern Wisconsin Patriot Alliance is organizing a Freedom Rally in Janesville on Saturday, October 16, 2010, from Noon to 3 p.m. This is coalition of grassroots Wisconsinites with a mission to Unite, Educate, and Mobilize citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Constitutionally-Limited Government, Fiscal Responsibility, and Free Market Principles. An exciting list of speakers has been scheduled and food vendors will be available. Any and all candidates for the November mid-term elections are invited to the Freedom Rally. This is an opportunity for those candidates to share their vision for Wisconsin and for citizens to voice their concerns. This Friday September 17th is Constitution Day! A march sponsored by the Wisconsin Friends Of The Constitution will be taking place in downtown Milwaukee for those who are interested in attending.  Constitution Celebration 2010 Poster Even more important is making sure your local public schools teach about the Constitution on this day as is required by law (Public Law 108-447).  Attached is a sample letter to a school you can use/modify to suit your needs.  The Overview of America videos can be downloaded from YouTube and are an excellent resource that have been used by many schools on Constitution Day. On Thursday September 16th at 12:00 noon, Judge Randy Koschnick will be speaking at the capitol about the Wisconsin Constitution and the U.S. Constitution.  Call everyone you know and get them to Madison for this important event. We will be having a meeting on Friday September 10th at 6pm in Jefferson at Kendall Packaging, 707 N Parkway Street. We will continue to discuss the sustainable development issue and how it relates to the UN Agenda 21. We will also hear from our friends who attended the 8/28 DC Rally, discuss the upcoming primary election candidates, and talk about other current issues, plans, and events. Below is a letter to the editor of the Daily Jefferson County Union that was printed a few weeks ago.  It articulates some fundamental points that are important to know.  Enjoy! This letter is a response to Dave Tuten’s letter to the editor on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. At the risk of giving Mr. Tuten’s letter any credibility at all, I will respond. First let me address the tone of the letter. There is no need for any personal attacks against Ms. Bakken or anyone in the Tea Party/Patriot Movement. Mr. Tuten’s letter is hate filled and mean-spirited. It is unfortunate that Mr. Tuten cannot debate without engaging in low-level attacks. Having said that, I would like to address several issues in Mr. Tuten’s letters. Let’s talk about the smoking ban. The issue many people in the Tea Party/Patriot Movement have with this ban is that it is a violation of private property rights. It’s the right of an entrepreneur to decide on his or her premises what is best for their business environment. Whether people smoke in a bar or any other place should be up to the owner of the business. The consumer has a right to make…

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting this Friday at 6pm in Jefferson at Kendall Packaging. Kendall Packaging is located at 707 N. Parkway Street in Jefferson. We will discuss a variety of issues at this meeting including Sheriff Richard Mack’s visit to Wisconsin, the debate in Lake Mills (on August 26th) between Peter Theron and Chad Lee (Republican candidates seeking to run against Rep. Tammy Baldwin this fall), the new “crisis” regarding the Salmonella in the eggs, and more. Hope to see you there! For those interested, Peter Theron and Chad Lee will be having a debate in Lake Mills at the Library at 7:00pm tomorrow August 26th. I will be part of the panel asking questions of the candidates. This may be the only chance to see a debate between the two before the primary. Peter Theron appeared before our group during the past winter. Chad Lee was also supposed to attend, but was sick the night of the forum. We have tried several times to get Chad Lee to one of our meetings for a candidate forum, but have been unsuccessful.
