Senator Grothman On Stopping 4-K

I know this is a little “dated”, but the fight is far from over.  Linked is the short version that you can download, print, and pass out to your friends and neighbors: Time_to_Stop_4K From State Senator Glenn Grothman: As frequently reported, the state has a potential $13 billion deficit in the two-year budget beginning on July 1st. An obvious place to look for reductions is in new programs which have only been in existence for the past 10 years. Since most people felt government was too big and costly in the year 2000, it’s hard to say that any program started since then is completely necessary. One of those programs is 4-year-old kindergarten (4-K). In the past 10 years, the number of children enrolled has more than tripled. Last year this program cost the state $140 million in state tax collections and cost local property tax payers another $82 million. In many districts, 4-K started because of an unintentional glitch in the state school revenue limits. Every district is assigned an annual revenue limit that it can spend on each student. For explanatory purposes, let’s set that limit at $9,000 per student times the total number of students enrolled. This…

Voter ID – Response to One Wisconsin Now

One Wisconsin Now writes on voter ID: http://www.onewisconsinnow.org/blog/2011/01/why-voter-id-is-bad-for-wisconsin.html Here is the response from Ken Van Doren – Campaign for Liberty in Wisconsin 1. OWN cites all kind of statistics. Where did these number come from, and who determined them? 2. Just because only a few were found guilty of voter fraud does not mean that these few were all the fraudulent votes cast. Witness the anecdotal evidence of busloads of people coming in during the 2008 fall election. Also, as a poll watcher, I was not allowed to examine the evidence of residency that voters presented. One “progressive” web site seemed to invite fraud with the information, “Voting in Wisconsin could not be easier. If you have a friend who is registered, he can vouch for you even if you do not have identification or other proof of residency.” Also, witness that in Milwaukee, the lion’s share of same day registrations came after 5PM. Could it be that this was a purposeful plan to overwhelm the elections staff so they would not have time to carefully consider the evidence of residency? The opportunity if not the fact of fraud was certainly there. No one can tell, with our lax registration…

Senate Committee on Transportation and Elections Public Hearing Notice

Please make time to testify in support of this bill.  The foundation of our republic depends on an honest and fair electoral process with only one eligible person getting one vote.  Whenever and whereever voter fraud occurs, we are all disenfranchised. Some Sheriffs Thumb Nose At New Racial Profiling Law

Kudos to the Racine and Kenosha County Sheriff’s for standing up against this foolish law, and kudos to Sen. Mary Lazich for the willingness to do something about this. Some Sheriffs thumb nose at new racial profiling law

Politico Story On Reince Preibus

We are quoted in the story regarding the newly elected RNC Chairman Reince Preibus so I think it is appropriate to provide the link. Reince Priebus’s tea party tightrope Many in the TEA Party / Patriot movement will continue to be skeptical of the Republican Party on a National Level.  Our movement was instrumental in helping the Republicans retake control of the U.S. House of Representatives, yet no TEA Party / Patriot candidates that were elected, made it into a leadership position.  They read the U.S. Constitution at the start of the new session and swore an oath to uphold it, yet most still support the Patriot Act, TARP, undeclared wars, and the Federal Reserve.  We have been shouting to stop out of control government spending and make deep cuts, yet the best they can come up with is to “roll-back” spending to 2008 levels.  They speak of Washington having a “spending problem”, yet the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner, could not come up with one area to cut spending when he was asked by NBC’s Brian Williams on the Nightly News. It will be interesting to see if Reince Preibus does listen to our movement.  The real proof…

Rock River Patriots Member – A Letter To Sen. Mary Lazich

Below is a letter from one of our members to State Senator Mary Lazich regarding Constitutional Carry: Senator Lazich, Wisconsin presents a principled united front expecting a smaller government/freedom minded approach to the right to carry firearms as our founding fathers derived our freedoms as inalienable rights not given to us by man or government, but by God. You can open-carry right now in Wisconsin for free, with no permit & no government registration. You shouldn’t have to register with the government and pay a permit tax if you want to have your coat/shirt over your sidearm. The criminals don’t abide by open carry laws now as they prey on unsuspecting victims. Both my wife and I have a combined 29-years experience in the military and thousands of hours of firearms training. We are both veterans of several military conflicts and truly attest to the value of firearms without government restrictions. Statistically speaking, cars kill more people than guns annually. Why subject us or honest law abiding citizens to overbearing rules when our 2nd amendment to the constitution already grants us these rights. Because of Jim Doyle’s distrust of the people, he twice vetoed Right to Carry legislation during his…
