ROCK RIVER PATRIOTS

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting in Johnson Creek at the Comfort Suites at 6:00pm on September 12th.  The Comfort Suites are located at 725 Paradise Ln in Johnson Creek, WI (located just west of the Johnson Creek Outlet Mall). At this meeting we welcome author and columnist Dr. Greg Evensen as our special guest speaker.  Dr. Evensen will be speaking about “America Under Siege”. About Dr. Evensen Dr. Greg Evensen is an award winning Kansas State Trooper, has served in the US Army, was a Kansas Marshal, educator, author, professional vocalist, former national radio host, and is the CEO of Risk Assessment Consultants, LLC. Greg earned his doctorate in Criminal Justice in 1980, with a dissertation entitled “Security in America: Are we secure?” He also authored “The Sovereignty Papers” which is a recorded compilation of his essays, “Watching from the Ramparts,” a teaching historical overview, recorded two inspirational vocal CD’s, “Hymns from the Heartland” and “After the Storm.” Greg has hosted numerous events and has been a featured speaker for patriotic conferences across our nation. Most recently he hosted “A Patriot’s Field of Dreams” in Jefferson City, Missouri. We hope to see you all there.

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting this Friday August 8th at 6:00pm in Fort Atkinson at the Dwight Foster Library Community Room.  The Dwight Foster Library is located at 209 Merchants Ave. At this meeting we will discuss current events, initiatives, and the upcoming primary elections.   We hope to see you all there!

We hope everyone had a great July 4th Holiday, and reflected of the spirit of Independence that made us a great nation! The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting in Fort Aktinson this Friday July 11th at 6:00pm.  We will be meeting in the community room of the Dwight Foster Library located at 209 Merchants Ave. At this meeting we will discuss current events and initiatives.  We we welcome two special guest speakers: We welcome Cody Horlacher, a candidate for the 33rd Assembly District.  Cody wanted to introduce himself and answer any questions we may have.  Cody is currently an Assistant District Attorney for Walworth County.  Cody graduated from Marquette Law School and UW-Whitewater Business School.  While at Marquette, Cody was on the board of the Federalist Society. The Federalist Society is an organization dedicated to conservative issues in the law, among them, States’ Rights and the 10th Amendment.  Furthermore, he Chaired the Walworth County Republican Party before attending law school.  When Cody was Chair of the UW-Whitewater College Republicans, he hosted the first Tea Party events on campus. This is a notice regarding the May 9th & June 13th meetings.  Because of events happening at the Fort Atkinson library, we are changing the location of the May and June meetings to the Rock Lake Baptist Church in Lake Mills.  The address is 191 E Pine Street.  This is about 3 blocks from McDonalds.  They have an entrance on the back of the building.   As always, we will discuss current events and initiatives, and have something else that you will be interested in.

She is now Professor of Education Reform in the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas, and holds the 21st Century Chair in Teacher Quality.

Vote for the candidates who represent the philosophy that government is best when it is small with limited power.  As government grows, freedom shrinks. JoAnn Miller of Jefferson, who is challenging former Jefferson County District Attorney David Wambach for an open seat on the court, signed the recall petition against Governor Walker on December 7, 2011 according to records listed on PutWisconsinFirst.com.    She used the address of 1157 Hillebrand Drive in Jefferson, which exactly matches the address listed on candidate registration records provided by the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board. We also welcome Olga Halaburda Hietpas to present information the current situation in the Ukraine.  This should be a very interesting presentation!  Hope to see you all there!   Olga Halaburda Bio Olga Halaburda is a first-generation Ukrainian-American and has family in Ukraine. She grew up in the Detroit-area, where there is a large and active Ukrainian community, a Ukrainian elementary school, and several Ukrainian Catholic and Ukrainian Orthodox churches. Olga is a former local television news reporter. She reported for WFRV in Green Bay for nearly 18 years. In her time with WFRV, she put her television production skills to work on personal project that grew into a business. She started Ukrainian Power Videos, Inc., and Olga produced a series of Ukrainian language puppet videos to help teach children the Ukrainian language and instill in them pride for their heritage. March 8, 2014 Letter to the Editor, On Thur Feb 6 th , the people’s voice was stymied, by an orchestrated public hearing lead by Sen.Luther Olsen who is chairman of the Senate Education Committee. The hearing was on Senate Bill 619 co-sponsored by Senator Leah Vukmir and Senator Paul Farrow. I try to attend various legislative hearings in Madison and other locations around the state, particularly those I have a vested interest in. Being a school board member, I have had considerable interest in the implementation of Common Core standards in our state’s public schools.   I don’t know what is more galling to me, the political gamesmanship proffered  by Sen Luther Olsen with his AP interview two hours before the hearing was held, stating that this Bill was dead, the preferential treatment given the DPI, CESA administrators, our district school superintendent and their staff and supportive teachers, or the subsequent AP article published in the Watertown Times Fri.   March 7th, page 7, first section.
