Happy Independence Day!

From all of us at the Rock River Patriots, we wish everyone a happy Independence Day! Today is an important day to reflect on Freedom and what it means to each and every one of us.  What are the costs of freedom? What is freedom to you?  Are we still even free?  What are you willing to do in the freedom fight? What does freedom mean to me?  Here is the transcript of a speech I delivered several years ago at an event.  I know these are feelings echoed throughout the freedom movement.  I know I am not alone when I feel these emotions. I am one of the members of the Rock River Patriots (RRP) leadership team. I must admit it was a struggle for me to decide if I wanted to be involved with this event because as many of you know I’m not a fan of either party. I became disillusioned with what I saw as I became a conservative activist by people who are supposed to be on “my side”.  I saw how the leadership of the party attempted to control good honest patriots or play political games. It became obvious many in “leadership positions” in…

Vote For Freedom On April 7th!

Don’t forget to vote tomorrow!  If you have not already done so, look at the candidates.  The WI Supreme Court election is an important one.  Do you want an activist judge or a judicial conservative?  The WI constitutional amendment seeking to allow WI Supreme Court justices to elect their Chief Justice only makes sense and deserves a “yes” vote. Many school board, town, and municipal races are on the ballot.  It is your duty to learn about the candidates.  Do they support Common Core, radical environmentalism, tax increases, or growing government?  If they do, you should be voting for someone else.

Contact Your Legislators

Contact your legislators in support the upcoming right to work bill as well as being repeal of the 48 hour waiting period for handgun purchases. Right to work is all about personal freedom. An individual should not have to be forced into joining a union just because of their chosen career field is one dominated by unions.  The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday,  February 24th.  Invited speakers will go first (likely taking up first 2-3 hours) then the public will have the opportunity to testify.  RTW hearing, February 24th, 10:00 am in Room 411 South of the State Capitol  (Senate’s Labor Committee). Senate Bill 35 and Assembly Bill 49 – Repealing the 48 hour waiting period on handgun purchases only makes sense.  A buyer has a background check completed as part of the purchasing process . The other thing to recognize is that the 48 hour waiting period does not apply to long guns. If a person is determined to do harm to someone else using a gun, it is very easy for them to obtain a long  gun without the 48 hour waiting period.  Finally, as we always need to mention, criminals do not obey the law anyway. These measures simply infringe on…
