From Wisconsin Capitol Watch… Senator Harry Reid has forced a vote on Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety Act. The vote invoked cloture, which limited debate to 30 hours total. Twenty four Republicans voted with Reid. All Reid needed was three-fifths (60 votes), but 24 Republicans already forgot how Americans voted November 2 and sided with liberal Reid. S 510 is a step toward increasing the size and cost of government at the expense of American farmers-big and small. The so-called Food Safety Act empowers the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate every part of every farming operation in the nation. The cost of compliance and record keeping to farmers cannot even be estimated. Even the farm wife who sells jam, preserves and apple butter at a Christmas bizarre will have to be permitted by the FDA. The cost to the government-all tax payers-will be $1.6 billion over the next five years, according to Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK). It also requires that a minimum of 4,000 staff members be added in 2011 and 5,000 by 2015 to implement the Act. So much for the call to reduce the federal government workforce. Republican Congressmen Sensenbrenner and Ryan Admit to Shady Backroom Deal with Democrat Moore I received this story from the Republican Liberty Caucus and via email from several other people.  If this is true, it is further proof we don’t really have two political parties in Washington D.C.  As Judge Andrew Napolitano has argued, we have one party, the BIG GOVERNMENT PARTY.  Hopefully, the TEA Party / Patriot Movement can change that. Here is the GOP’s proposal: Pledge To America This seems like more of the same Republican rhetoric.  Cutting taxes, cutting spending, blah, blah, blah… How about eliminating all of the unconstitutional federal agencies?  Just cutting the growth of unconstitutional government doesn’t address the root of the problem. How about seeking to repeal the 16th Amendment and return to a tax system as the Constitution originally intended? The Amnesty Memo As many have said before, we have every reason to worry about this.  Giving blanket amnesty is a way to buy votes.  The liberals know that by doing so, they will forever change the electorate in their favor, not to mention the country.  As Obama said they will “fundamentally transform” America.  They are trying to ensure that they will keep their power indefinitely.  Of those granted amnesty, who will ever vote against the ones who rewarded them for breaking the law? This brings up another point.  If this really is the plan, expect to see it happen close to the November elections.  Why?  First, it allows for the maximum number of illegals to make it into this country before amnesty kicks in.  Then comes the election itself.  Think about the chaos that will occur at the polls with all the new “citizens” seeking to vote.  There will be violence, massive voter fraud, and claims of racism.  This is a part of the Cloward-Piven strategy to “overwhelm the system” and create another “crisis”. Remember what Rahm Emmanuel said, “Never waste a crisis.”  Because of this issue, there could be widespread social unrest and riots….
