Richard Mack is a former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, and a long-time crusader for freedom and individual rights. In 1994 he filed a lawsuit challenging the federal government in an attempt to stop them from forcing unfunded mandates on County officials in Arizona. He won a decision at the US Supreme Court on this issue. The suit catapulted him to national attention, with television appearances on the Donahue Show, Good Morning America, Crossfire, Nightline, CNBC, and SHOWTIME’S the AMERICAN CANDIDATE. He’s been interviewed on over 500 radio talk shows nationwide and has traveled the country extensively. The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting on Friday July 23rd at 6:00pm at Kendall Packaging in Jefferson.  Kendal Packaging is located at 707 N. Parkway Street. At this meeting we will welcome back Arizona Minuteman Gary Mienert to talk more about the situation along the Arizona – Mexico border.  If you were not able to make it to the first presentation, I encourage you to make it to this one.  Gary gave us unique insights into many aspects of the illegal immigration issue that the mainstream media is not reporting. The second portion of our meeting will be a candidate forum with Dave Westlake.  Dave is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate to run against Russ Feingold.  Dave made an appearance before us during the winter months in conjunction with Rob Taylor (running as an Independent), who appeared at the candidate forum at our last meeting.  We thank Dave in advance for his participation. Our vetting session was written about in the latest Milwaukee Journal newspaper.  Here is the link to the story: Ron Johnson postpones tea party sessions I think it is important to comment on several issues.  We are quoted in the story as being “constitutional purists”.  That means we want the government to follow the Constitution.  The Founding Fathers witnessed government tyranny firsthand, and devised a way to prevent it from happening again.  One of the reasons our country is in the shape it is in, is because our elected officials do not know or follow the Constitution. Many people complain about massive federal government spending and debt.  What they fail to realize is that most of these agencies with these huge budgets are unconstitutional.  They are better handled at the state or local level! We are also quoted in the story stating we want more detail on issues.  That comment was in part because we had a lot more questions to ask, understanding the Johnson campaign has only a limited amount of time.  However, specific answers are important.  All too often we hear politicians speak in generalities so they are not “pinned down” on any particular issue.
