Rock River Patriots Letter To Mark Belling

Below is the letter I sent out to Milwaukee talk radio show host Mark Belling regarding his comments on his show about our group.  I will attempt to post the audio soon. Mark stated the we ” trying to speak for the whole movement”  and “are running around trying to endorse candidates and pass judgement”.  I am not certain where this is coming from.  I can only speculate we have angered some in the Republican Party establishment with our Ron Johnson vetting session.  Shortly after the video was posted, I started hearing the same type of rhetoric.  Again, this is only speculation. I will say the same thing again.  We will not “carry water” for anyone.  It is the job of the people to ask tough questions of candidates no matter who they are or what endorsements they have. Here is the letter: Mark, In Hour 2 Part 1 of your show today (07/14/10), you completely LIED about about our position regarding the endorsement of candidates. We have repeatedly stated that we DO NOT endorse candidates because the Tea Party is about an ideology, not a particular person. Long before your rant today, we were quoted in the Wisconsin State Journal where…

The Sheperd Express Weighs In On The TEA Party Movement

Here is a new article by Lisa Kaiser from the Sheperd Express on TEA Party movement in Wisconsin. Will Wisconsin Join the Tea Party One issue that many of the analysts seem to miss is that more people have a favorable opinion of the TEA Party / Patriot Movement than either political party.  I believe this is because each of the TEA Party / Patriot Groups take an unwavering stand for their beliefs and are not afraid to defend them.  People are tired of the same old wishy-washy politicians who take a soft position on an issue so they can essentially flip-flop without getting labeled a “flip-flopper” or politicians who say anything to get elected.  We want principled leaders who take a stand and follow the Constitution.  Being a leader means stepping out in front of the crowd and “blazing the trail” guided by the Constitution and principles, not organizing a focus group to determine what those principles need to be! If we remain steadfast to our principles and educate others along the way, we will have a significant impact on our country.  If we compromise our principles “to get along” or “be liked by the media”, then we will…

Ron Johnson Postpones Tea Party Sessions

Our vetting session was written about in the latest Milwaukee Journal newspaper.  Here is the link to the story: Ron Johnson postpones tea party sessions I think it is important to comment on several issues.  We are quoted in the story as being “constitutional purists”.  That means we want the government to follow the Constitution.  The Founding Fathers witnessed government tyranny firsthand, and devised a way to prevent it from happening again.  One of the reasons our country is in the shape it is in, is because our elected officials do not know or follow the Constitution. Many people complain about massive federal government spending and debt.  What they fail to realize is that most of these agencies with these huge budgets are unconstitutional.  They are better handled at the state or local level! We are also quoted in the story stating we want more detail on issues.  That comment was in part because we had a lot more questions to ask, understanding the Johnson campaign has only a limited amount of time.  However, specific answers are important.  All too often we hear politicians speak in generalities so they are not “pinned down” on any particular issue. We understand that no…

Join Us To Pray For Our Country On May 6th

The National Day Of Prayer, normally held on May 6th, was recently recently declared unconstitutional by US District Judge Barbara Crabb. The Rock River Patriots will be hosting a time of prayer in the front of the Jefferson County Courthouse at 320 S. Main Street in Jefferson on May 6th at 6:30pm to pray for our country.  We will have several speakers who will talk briefly about the National Day of Prayer before we join together to pray for our country and our leaders.  Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.  This fact does not change no matter what ruling is handed down by Judge Crabb. As patriots fighting against the government stripping away our rights and liberties, we must never forget that our rights come from God.  Our founding fathers understood this.  The following are two quotes from the founding fathers that illustrate this point: “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great Nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religious, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.” Patrick Henry 1776 “God who gave us life…
