No Rock River Patriots Meeting This Friday November 23rd

There will be NO Rock River Patriots meeting this Friday November 23rd due to the Thanksgiving holiday.  Our next meeting will be on Friday December 14th. The Rock River Patriots want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  Even thought our country is headed in the wrong direction, we have much to be thankful for.  Please take a little time out of your busy schedule today and give thanks to God for all His blessings and pray for this nation. Below is the text of the first Thanksgiving proclamation by George Washington during his first year as President.  It sets aside Thursday, November 26 as “A Day of Public Thanksgiving and Prayer.” Signed by Washington on October 3, 1789 and entitled “General Thanksgiving,” the decree appointed the day “to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God.” While there were Thanksgiving observances in America both before and after Washington’s proclamation, this represents the first to be so designated by the new national government.
