AS BAD AS IT GETS, WE STILL HAVE HOPE…HAPPY EASTER!

Through our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we still have hope, no matter how bad it looks. In case you were not aware…The world didn’t come into being by a big explosion billions of years ago.  You are not here because of a series of mistakes millions of years ago in which life was somehow created violating every scientific law we know to be true.  Everything did not come from nothing. On the contrary, you are a unique creation by God with a purpose.  You are not an accident, but someone of significance.  After the Fall of Man, the world changed from it’s perfect state as did Adam and Eve.  Adam and Eve (and us) were created in God’s image, meaning they were eternal.  However they were no longer sinless, meaning they would die.  Because God is just, His plan included a place for the righteous (heaven) and for the wicked (hell) after they die.  Genesis 3 chronicles the Fall and God’s plan of redemption.  While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The meaning of Easter – What does it mean to you? The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ’s victory over death. His resurrection…

Happy Resurrection Day!

The meaning of Easter – What does it mean to you? The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ’s victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all. However, Easter did not always symbolize Christ’s resurrection from the dead and the meaning of Easter was quite different than what Christians celebrate today. The feast day of Easter was originally a pagan celebration of renewal and rebirth. Celebrated in the early spring, it honored the pagan Saxon goddess Eastre. When the early missionaries converted the Saxons to Christianity, the holiday, since it fell around the same time as the traditional memorial of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, was merged with the pagan celebration, and became know…

Celebrate This Easter Remembering God’s Gift To Humanity!

On Holy Thursday, a story appeared on Drudge Report which stated that in private conversations, Pope Francis indicated there was “No Hell”.  As Pat Buchanan points out in his column, “Why then did Jesus Christ have to die on the cross?” In case you were not aware…The world didn’t come into being by a big explosion billions of years ago.  You are not here because of a series of mistakes millions of years ago in which life was somehow created violating every scientific law we know to be true.  Everything did not come from nothing. The Missiles of Holy Week and the Rule of Law By Judge Andrew P. Napolitano April 13, 2017 The history of the world is the history of violence. I had planned to write this column about the most critical act of violence in human history and its superhuman aftermath — the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter, which celebrates His resurrection in a few days, is the centerpiece of all Christian belief. Without the risen Christ, we are doomed. Only with Him can we be saved. An old Irish priest told me in my youth that Easter means there is hope for the dead. And if there is hope for the dead, there is hope for the living. But the living must do more than just hope, because governments continue to crush hope with violence, irrespective of moral and legal norms. Last week, as Holy Week was approaching, the United States launched 59 cruise missiles at a Syrian airfield because President Donald Trump was morally repulsed at the use of poison gas in Syria in the days preceding. Trump argued that the gas could only have been deployed intentionally by the Syrian government on its own people and that…
