Rock River Patriots Meeting This Friday November 9th

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting in Fort Atkinson this Friday November 9th at 6:00 pm in the Dwight Foster Library.  The Dwight Foster Library is located at 209 Merchants Ave.  We will discuss the election results and discuss future plans / initiatives.  This is the only meeting in November.

On the election…(more will be discussed at the meeting)

Many were surprised by the election results from night.  While personally hoping the outcome would be different, deep down in my soul I have always had an uneasy feeling about both Romney and Obama.  Both are in favor of big government.  Yes, the flavor is a little different, but the brand is very similar.  Choosing the Republican may have slowed down the nation from the economic cliff, but we would still be heading that way.

I have no reason to address the Democratic party in this analysis because they have been morally bankrupt and unprincipled for a long time.  A group that has no problem with the killing unborn children, really needs no other explanation.

The Republican Party, on the other hand, has continually sacrificed our founding principles, from the entitlement state to the police state.  They like to talk about how the liberals are “shredding” the constitution, but they are just as culpable.  Many in the GOP are globalists as is evidenced by their embrace of Green Tier and Agenda 21.  The leadership doesn’t want true leaders who stand on principle.  Make no mistake about it, the party elite expect legislators to do what they are told, or they will find a way to get rid of you even if it means giving up that seat to the opposition.  The Republican party leadership did this to several people we personally know including Rep. Evan Wynn, using the redistricting process to make his district predominately Democrat.

This is what John Adams and George Washington said about the two party system:

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution. (John Adams)

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.

Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind, (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight,) the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.

It serves always to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration. It agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another. (George Washington)

So where does this leave us…are we on a sinking ship?

The only answer I can give you is this:  Pray and seek guidance from the Lord.  If you do not already have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, take the time to meet him.  He is truly the only one with all the answers.

Proverbs 1:7 – The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

  1. Yes, God is in control, I was deeply saddened but hope things won’t be as bad as I fear.

  2. Good post. Do you think elections will ever return to the way they used to be? Where the President was not elected by the people but those representing our towns and states whom, were then elected by the people. If the Republican Party actually had a hand in ousting Evan Wynn we are in big trouble. Peace and hope is in our LORD

    1. Scott, god takes care of those that take care of themselves and God does not vote in Wisconsin. Your other thought, “Where the President was not elected by the people but those representing our towns and states whom, were then elected by the people.” taking the vote away from the people, all of them, is not unlike taxation without representation. Terrifying, I guess voter ID is the first step and it is no wonder it is in the court.

Tea Party members, fight this foolishness, before the king returns.

Seems like this site is back to publishing a single view, we’ll see if this comment survives editing by those that would take the direct vote away from all.

    2. Surely, Scotty you jest? You want my independent vote to go to a local party politician, who in turn will vote for me? Sorry one man one vote with the freedom to vote for either party. I suppose you also favor voter ID so we can keep people from the polls. Seems like voter ID irritatted people enough to get THOSE people to vote in even larger numbers.

Nice try, millions spent, state revenue stream broken(no cost for state ID) and more people voted.
