The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting this Friday July 9th at 6:00pm in Jefferson at Kendall Packaging.  Kendall Packaging is located at 707 N. Parkway Street. At this meeting we will discuss current events and issues of importance.  We welcome back Rob Taylor of the Constitution Party for a candidate forum.  Rob is running for U.S. Senate for the Constitution Party. Here is a new article by Lisa Kaiser from the Sheperd Express on TEA Party movement in Wisconsin. Will Wisconsin Join the Tea Party One issue that many of the analysts seem to miss is that more people have a favorable opinion of the TEA Party / Patriot Movement than either political party.  I believe this is because each of the TEA Party / Patriot Groups take an unwavering stand for their beliefs and are not afraid to defend them.  People are tired of the same old wishy-washy politicians who take a soft position on an issue so they can essentially flip-flop without getting labeled a “flip-flopper” or politicians who say anything to get elected.  We want principled leaders who take a stand and follow the Constitution.  Being a leader means stepping out in front of the crowd and “blazing the trail” guided by the Constitution and principles, not organizing a focus group to determine what those principles need to be! If we remain steadfast to our principles and educate others along the way, we will have a significant impact on our country.  If we compromise our principles “to get along” or “be liked by the media”, then we will…

Here is a letter from Brian Carson of Janesville to Senators Kohl and Feingold regarding Elena Kagen’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. I listened to Elena Kagan’s opening statement at her confirmation hearing today. I heard a lot of rhetoric from her about family this, and feelings that, and deference to the will of the people. Those are all fine sentiments, but they have very little bearing, in fact, they should have no bearing at all on the operation of the Supreme Court. I heard no reference by Ms. Kagen to abiding by the Constitution. Isn’t that the job of the Supreme Court, to determine if legislation and/or previously adjudicated decisions adhere to the Constitution ? The Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, is the supreme law of the land until it is properly amended, and it is the only thing that is to be upheld by the Supreme Court, or used by them in their decision making process. All other decision or policy making is to be left to the legislature, the States, or to the people. Elena Kagan has argued positions that would have outlawed Thomas Paine’s “common Sense”. In 1996, she apparently tied or equated the NRA to the KKK while debating the Clinton administration’s position…
