The Rock River Patriots are on the IRS Enemies List!

It should be no surprise to anyone following us that we were one of the groups targeted by the IRS.  Brian Sikma at Media Trackers writes about the story here.  You can see the enemies list here.

What is amazing is that virtually no local media has even contacted the RRP for any comment about the story, or even covered the story.  I think this is just another example of the bias we see in the local and national media.  They seek to control the flow of information and content as it suits their agenda.  Take notice at how much coverage you see in local media about some questionable environmental cause.  A handful of people get together to whine about something and the media is there to hype the non-story.

The government targeting individual groups because of their political views IS A STORY!  No matter your political affiliation, it should scare you to death…if you have a conscience (I know that excludes many on the left).  This is the kind of thing you see in the 3rd world, not a first world nation like the United States.  Sadly, many will choose to look at the issue of this being about obtaining non-profit status, instead of seeing how once again the government has violated the rights of its citizens.

Take notice…if they can do it to us, they will do it to you.

Targeted by the IRS

As many of you know, the Rock River Patriots have been one of the Patriot / TEA Party groups that have been targeted by the IRS while pursuing tax exempt status.  Because of what we believe are criminal actions by this Federal agency, we have withdrawn our application after being asked to produce substantially more information and documentation more than a year after submitting our application.  We had neither the time or ability to produce the vast amount of information requested.

Below are the scans of our correspondence with the IRS, including the RRP letter to the IRS indicating the we wish to withdraw our application.

Congress Set to Invade Your Privacy Again

On Thursday, Congress is scheduled to begin consideration of H.R. 3523, the “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011” (CISPA). This bill is the next great threat to our privacy over the Internet, but unlike the fight against SOPA and PIPA, Internet giants like Facebook and Twitter are openly supporting CISPA.  Contact your congressional representatives and tell them to vote “NO” on H.R. 3523.
