I am a former U.S. Border Patrol Agent and I spent ten years in uniform working both the southern and northern borders. I later worked as a special agent assigned to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF). I currently sit on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, Inc. (WWW.NAFBPO.ORG). We are not a union and all of our members are already retired, so we have no affiliation with the administration. We collectively have hundreds of years of experience in border and immigration law enforcement.
Wisconsin has a severe heroin problem. It is called “Mexican brown heroin”, which is commonly laced with fentanyl, which increses it’s potency. This heroin isn’t being delivered to Wisconsin by drones or spaceships. It is being smuggled across our southern border. It isn’t being distributed by native Wisconsin folks. The Mexican cartels have set up distribution networks in every state in our nation. The distributors are mainly illegal alien Mexicans. This is intentional to give the cartels a greater hold and control over their distributors. The distributors have extended family and deep roots in Mexico, so they can be readily held accountable by the cartel bosses.
Providing Narcan kits to high school nurses and first responders is a bandaid. The people of Wisconsin have to stand up and demand the return to enforcement of our immigration laws, both at the border and the interior of the United States. One without the other will not work.
Immigration enforcement equates to national security and job protection for Americans. Both sides of the aisle are guilty for allowing this problem to fester year after year. Please send a message loud and clear to all of your elected officials that we are sick and tired of hearing about one form or another of amnesty. Even Dr. Spock said to not reward bad behavior.
