We want to take this time to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Many people like to think about all the gifts and celebrations that happen on this holiday. It is very easy to let yourself get lost in all of the festivities. It is very easy to forget what this time is really all about. Some of us give each other gifts because we have been told in the past “Tis is the season to be giving.”
Christmas, however, does not have to do with the gifts that you did or did not get. No matter how big or how small, those gifts cannot compare to God’s gift to humanity. The gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest gift of all. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?” Mark 8:36
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we encourage you to take a few minutes to contemplate what this means for us. The Creator of the Universe desires a relationship with each and every one of us. He proved his love for us despite our sinful condition by sending Jesus Christ to be the perfect sacrifice for sin in our place. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
God through his Son Jesus Christ sacrificed a part of himself, became man, lived a perfect life, and died on a cross because he loved us so much…And proved that he was God by rising on the third day.
May God’s blessings be upon you this Christmas, and we wish you a prosperous New Year!
