I regret to inform all of you planning to attend the Rock River Patriots Meeting tomorrow night, January 9th, 2015, that the meeting has been cancelled due to the weather.  We received notice that many people were not going to be able to attend because of the bad weather. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.   We hope to see you all in February at our next meeting!  

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting this Friday June 14th at 6:00pm in Fort Atkinson at the Dwight Foster Library.  The Dwight Foster Library is located at 209 Merchants Avenue in Fort Atkinson. At this meeting, we will receive an update on the WI budget process from Rep. Steve Nass.  We will also discuss the recent “Big Brother Government Spying” revelations that have come to light and hear the story of one whistle-blower on this issue. The RRP have continually spoke out against the Patriot Act and the Federal Gov’t spying on American citizens without a warrant.  In light of all the recent scandals and abuses of power, why would we trust them to do the right thing.  Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  Instead, we need to bind the government down by the chains of the Constitution”, as one of our Founding Fathers had said.  The government’s primary function is to protect our freedom and keep us free, not to provide “cradle to the grave” security.  When government keeps us free and protects our liberty, we are made safer.  However, when government assumes ultimate power and authority in order to protect us, they will ultimately…

I guess private property isn’t really private after-all.  This is the epitome of BIG BROTHER!!!  This stems from another drug case, which along with “terrorism” cases seem to take our constitutional protections and throw them out the window. Federal Judge OKs Installation of Surveillance Cameras Without a Warrant On October 29, a federal district court judge ruled that police can enter onto privately owned property and install secret surveillance cameras without a warrant. The judge did set forth a few guidelines that must be followed before such activity would be permissible, but the fact that such a scenario is accepted as constitutional by a federal judge is a serious setback for privacy and for the Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment guarantees: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. link to full article

Another reason to get rid of the Patriot Act!!! There’s a Secret Patriot Act, Senator Says

From infowars.com:  Harry Reid Moves To Prevent Senate Debate On The Patriot Act Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has circumvented a call by the newly elected senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, to debate the Patriot Act. In order to prevent a filibuster, Reid performed “some procedural gymnastics,” according to Fox News, and slipped Patriot Act language into a House small business bill that is considered filibuster-proof. In doing so, Reid has skirted objections to the bill led by Paul and has moved closer to extending the Patriot Act without debate. The Rock River Patriots have long spoken out against the Patriot Act because it is a blantant violation of our civil rights.  We warned that the Patriot Act will be used against patriotic Americans who are Pro-Life, Support the 2nd Amendment, believe in fidelity to the Constitution, support Ron Paul, ect…This is based on the information written in the MIAC Report that cites those view as “extremist” and the people as “potential domestic terrorists.”  We maintain that this is not about protecting Americans, but about control.  If it were about security, we would have secured our borders long ago.
