Sacramento-area pilot punished for YouTube video From the story: Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff’s deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm. The pilot recorded that event as well and provided all the video to News10. At the same time as the federal marshals took the pilot’s gun, a deputy sheriff asked him to surrender his state-issued permit to carry a concealed weapon. A follow-up letter from the sheriff’s department said the CCW permit would be reevaluated following the outcome of the federal investigation. Does anyone see a problem with this?  Obviously there are freedom of speech issues here. There is another important lesson for us all.  They asked him to surrender his state-issued CCW permit!  What was his crime?  The pilot’s natural right to defend himself does not vanish because he is critical of the government.  This is why we are strong advocates for Constitutional Carry. On behalf of the Rock River Patriots, I want to thank you for all you have done this past year. As we look ahead to the upcoming year, we see there is much to be done. It is an opportunity to truly change Wisconsin for the better. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact and return our state to something great. However, with all that needs to be done, it is easy to forget why Christmas is so important in the first place. We continually hear the cliche that “the true meaning of Christmas is about giving.” Yes, it is the season to be giving, but there is more to the story. The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of God’s gift to mankind. God sent his son, Jesus Christ to provide a means of salvation to a fallen people. Only by accepting God’s free gift of Jesus Christ, can we truly be free. I encourage you all to take the time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and thank God for his gift this Christmas season. Why This Gigantic “Intelligence” Apparatus? This story from the Ludwig Von Mises Institute provides good commentary on the out of control Federal Government trying to “protect” us.  We linked the original stories in the Washington Post by Dana Priest and William M. Arkin about “Top Secret America” on this website when they came out. Robert Higgs, the author of this commentary, in closing writes: What we see here is not really an “intelligence” or counterterrorism operation at all. It’s a rip-off, plain and simple, fed by irrational fear and continually stoked by the government plunderers who are exercising the power and raking in the booty to “fight terrorism.” He is right on many points.  What finally changed my whole perspective on virtually everything involved with “the war on terror” was one simple fact.  We still have not totally secured our borders over 10 years after 9/11, but we can go to other countries and secure and defend theirs.

The Rock River Patriots will be having a meeting Friday December 10th in Jefferson at 6:00pm in the conference room at Kendall Packaging.  Kendall Packaging is located at 707 N. Parkway Street. This will be our only meeting in December, so you don’t want to miss it.  At this meeting will discuss current issues / events and we will welcome back two very knowledgeable friends to teach us how to be effective “citizen lobbyists.” Hope to see you all there!

This happened a short time ago… Homeland Security seizes domain names U.S. Govt. Seizes Web Domains Accused of Piracy, Counterfeiting We said it would happen and it is starting.  Where is the due process for the owners of these web sites?  According to one of the articles, some warrants were signed authorizing these sites to be shut down. What if it turns out they are wrong and they have just taken away someone’s livelihood? An even more important question is why they even care about people “copying music” or selling “imitation” handbags?  Aren’t they supposed to be concerned about terrorism and securing our borders?
